Judge rules for the safety of Trans and Non-Binary folks. Happy Pride pt.2.
Our oppressive heat wave broke yesterday and we had an extremely pleasant day in the 20s. That’s the 70s my U.S. dear ones. It’s been a bad week for pain so the weeds in my garden are monstrous. I couldn’t work outside in dangerous heat anyway. Nothing to do but hide inside with new A/C and shrug about it. You bet I drank a beer on the shady porch in celebration of the reprieve.
It’s the last weekend of Pride in London, Ont. culminating in the parade. I’ve got multiple groups where I can march. Haven’t decided if I will. It’s calling for rain. Pain and weather will determine my participation. I will bring out my traditional “Ooooh this fence feels good! #bipride” sign if motivation arrives. I’ve been carrying that one since the early 90s.
Happy 2SLGBTQIA++ news! A judge has halted a deportation of a Non-Binary American, ruling that they can stay as their case is judicially reviewed. It could be a precedent moving us towards considering the risks our Trans and Non-Binary face from the ever-growing danger of fascism poses. We need to allow refugee status for our friends. It’s the Canadian way.
The dishwasher died. Adding to the year of financial mayhem from needing a new furnace, A/C, water heater, and laptop. And I was about to pay off the credit card this month. Seems I can’t ever get ahead. Focusing on gratitude for the roof over my head and food in my belly. And the great job that will allow me to pay it off. Again.
It’s not helping much. I’ve taken a pain killer and will likely go back to bed after asking sweetie to take care of the damned forest of weeds.
Love and courage my friends!
