Talbot bridge eats another truck. Another good day for a fest. CW: Verdict finally comes down in hockey player trial. Moths invade. Great summary of why we’re elbows up from nymag while US Coast Guard allegedly gets pushy.

In life: I’m doing as well as can be. K. and I are off to another weekend fest in the park. Today it’s Home County Folk festival. We’ll likely hang for a few hours to catch the music while power lounging. Beer gardening will be involved. Love me our home town Brewery. Thanks for sponsoring the space for wobbly pop London Brewing! If we get the urge to move there’s also events at the Market and Dundas Place where we might wander. Love sharing the city’s good things with my person. P.S. why haven’t you come to visit? I would love sharing the fun shit we do with you too.

Speaking of gardening. Witnessed a boxwood moth near my shrubbery. I was thinking of ripping them out after the porch work anyway. They’ve been ailing for various reasons since I bought my place (hello big winter road and sidewalk salting). Meanwhile I need do the treatment because invasive species won’t stick to just my yard. Porch skirting arrives on Sunday. Looking forward to having this project for the Manor completed. Yes, my dear ones I nicknamed my house.  Again.

I live in very small square footage space. It made me laugh to call my L.A. home the Villa as you may remember. Likewise, I smile and chuckle when I call this bitty place the Manor. P.P.S. why haven’t you come to visit? I miss your faces.

London, Ont. has a VERY low clearance railway underpass. Vehicles get stuck on the Talbot bridge a couple of times a year despite copious warning signs. Usually during university student moving time and involving a U-Haul. You’d think a city employee would know better. Perhaps they’re not from here? Each time it happens Londoners gleefully share pictures and a laugh at the driver’s expense. A tad cruel. Admittedly, I smirk.

CW: there’s been a verdict in never ending hockey player sexual assault trial. The incident and the judicial aftermath happened here. Unsurprisingly, they were acquitted. Our cops and Hockey Canada handled things poorly. The crown’s case seemed murky. I believe the survivor about lack of ongoing consent. I couldn’t take the media. I’m relieved the lead story on the local evening news will no longer collectively re-traumatize us.

In politics: A Quebec man was arrested by U.S. Coast guard while fishing on Lake Champlain. Accused of being over the border on U.S. waters. Disputable. He was horribly mistreated as is the new protocol in practice by the black shirts. This shit is why we’re continuing to boycott crossing the border.

Highly recommend this article from NYMag. Avoid the paywall by checking out the publication on Libby if your library uses the app.  A great recap of VonShitsHisPants’ threats to Canadian sovereignty since winning the election. It’s also a great summary of the full history of U.S. aggression towards us. We’ve always beaten it back. Your dictator is right saying we’re mean. We actually are. Our reputation for being nice is overblown. We’re not nice. We’re kind. Big diff.  Cruel to be kind. Same this time. Boycotts remain strong. National treasure Charlie Angus gets the money quote

Do you think I am going to let that fucking criminal take over my country? Not a chance.

Love and courage my friends!
